A retro-focus lens using a concave lens toward the subject and a convex lens toward the CCD, widely used in wide-angle SLRs and the like, is used. In addition to this two glass-moulded aspheric lenses and one special low dispersion lens are used. These are optimally laid out in a configuration that fully corrects and reduces distortion, frame aberration, colour aberration, using fewer lens element. It also improves the light transmissivity of the lens, producing clear images.

  • 1/1.8" Type CCD - 8.1 million effective pixels
  • Lens - 28 mm (35 mm equiv) / F 2.4 - F 11
  • AF assist lamp
  • Focus distance - Normal: 30cm to infinity / Macro: 0.02 m to infinity
  • Metering - 256 multi-point / Spot metering / Center-weighted average
  • Shutter speed - 180 - 1/2000 sec
  • RAW shooting possibility

Pros: magnesium build, ISO 1600, RAW Cons: slow RAW storage even with a fast SD card

this is an cheaper Leica rangefinder option :)

with the fixed 24mm f/2.4 lens with great performance is the GR digital for its size is this the ideal everyday pocket size companion that handles near professional usage near like with your SLR changing settings in P/A/S modes with a roller

magnesium body is durable, LCD is large and precise
instant power

one big bug: slow RAW storage - it takes about 6 sec to record a RAW image and during this time the camera is deaf
